    This post references the colored drawing linked to earlier in this thread from the monster fish keepers site. (Not sure if I can post the pic itself here)

    My plan is to add two more "blue" cross braces to the top, and three similar braces to the bottom. I will also add two "purple" supports ("legs") to the middle of the front and rear of the stand. Will this be enough?

    I think that will be plenty for a 75 gallon

    Picked up the lumber on my lunch break... just gotta find someone with a good radial arm saw I can use...

    Another quick question... how tall is an Eheim 2217?

    About 15-3/4 inches.

    Stand is built! Camera batteries won't hold a charge so I didn't get any in-progress pics but I did manage to get the camera to stay on long enough to grab a few after pics:
