I got my platy and I'm not sure if she is full of babies or not? Also is it a female or male. I got her in a fish hatchery just in case she is pregnent

Female, looks pretty fat so there may be babies.
What else do you have in the aquarium? Depending on your other stock you might be able to let the platy give birth normally in the tank, a much less stressful situation for the mother.

it is a female. and it is proably pregnet
i hear some people say, "i kept a goldfish in a bowl and it lived for a year."
they don't know how lucky they were and all goldfish live at least 15 years in proper conditions.
that is equal to saying my human lived in his closet for 5 years!

SWhe looks like she has a faint gravid spot although my platys can look this way for a month or more, I would take her out of the breeding trap though, they dont like it too much. If you want to save the fry just net them and pop them in the breeder tank after she gives birth, they will either float right near the top of the tank or hide under an ornament. Better yet get some java moss and float it near the top of the tank. All the fry will hide in that :)

If she is pregnant she isnt really big enough yet, they look like they are literally going to explode at the seams when they are ready!
