To each their own, Gesp. =] I love cacatuiodes and their variety of color forms. I do appreciate other Apistos, too, but just wanted a pair of these in my community tank, so they'd stand out. So far, I really like my panduros. Very elegant fish and they've slowed down a bit, so I could probably get a better picture tonight. I already saw one take to the terracotta cave I put in there.

lol, Hardy... They can definitely be pushovers.

Blimey, these will keep you busy. Which fish are in which tanks?

Your sterbais will be shy for ages...from my experience. Only now do I ever see mine and I've had them for 18 months! Quite frustrating, but their intense adult colours are worth the wait.

They'll definitely keep me busy. lol

I have the 4 plecos in my 40gal breeder, the 12 Sterbais in a 20gal long, the Apisto. cac. "Super Reds" in my 75gal community and the Apisto. panduro in a 20gal long. RCs is throughout all tanks... but I think the panduros are making quick meals of them in their tank. =< I can't prove it, but I'm seeing less of them ever since adding the Apistos.

It's funny you mentioned that your GBR's bullied your Apisto Cacs. I put a pair of the cacs in my 20 long one week ago with 2 GBR's several male guppies and a few pygmy cories. I was a little concerned about the GBR's and was watching for bullying by them but the apistos are ruling the place. Within one week, I now have a swarm of fry around the female apisto and the male is doing his part to keep the others away. Not sure how far these will make it with everyone else in there.

Both the male and female apisto have staked out about 1/2 - 3/4 of the tank to themselves for now, with GBR's pushed to the back. They get annoyed by the cories and don't seem bothered much at all by the guppies. They swim right through them to keep pushing the GBR's back. I'll just have to keep watch and see if the power shifts at all.

That's awesome about the Apistos... I can't believe you're not having problems yet, with a 20gal long. My GBRs could not play nice in a 75gal tank, which was heavily planted w/ two pieces of pretty large driftwood & rock caves. The GBRs were definitely the bullies of the tank and stressed the Apistos to death. Unfortunately, I didn't catch it in time and even if I did, I had no safe place to house them separately. =/

How old are your GBRs? I wonder if they're just too young to be territorial yet.

Kev, great news! The really nice thing to see lately is the transition of everyone to enjoy apisto species as well as GBR. It used to be the only fish recommended in dwarfs were gbr. Love seeing the diversity! Great set up Kev and I agree, female and male apisto. Those look GREAT! Ill have to have some fry when you can man.
