Leporacanthicus Joselimai (L264) & H. Debiliterra (L129)
Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could give me some firsthand info on these pleco.
Originally I was looking at Gold Nugget Plecos but I'm afraid one of those might feel a little cramped in a 60 gallon tank so as hard as it was to let go of that idea, I'm looking at other plecos.
If anyone has an L264, can you please tell me how it gets along with your fish (especially if you have otos) and if it eats algae in your tank alongside what you feed it? PlanetCatfish mentions that L264s are more active in a group, so does that mean they are not aggressive with each other like some other plecos?
I was also looking at L129s but they seem a bit small for a 60 gallon and sound like they could be territorial against otos. I would like everyone to be able to get along!
Also in the running is an L183, but being a variant of BN plecos I have all the information I could possibly ever want on that one!

Pretty much all hypancistrus can be territorial bastards. And rather secretive. L. Joselimai is less secretive and certainly less aggressive. Both of these do NOT tolerate HARD WATER AT ALL WELL! (yes I know, few people here believe that water hardness matters but with these it does!). I'd definitely go for Leporacanthicus and see if I could get it to breed.
