    good day,

i have been using my AISOL Super Blue on my 25G cube and have had great results, i am setting up a new tank- Deep blue 40G frag tank- mostly SPS, i already have a extra large skimmer, dosing equipment ATO, and all that good stuff. now i have been reading that Adding the UV led's is a great option however they don't provide UVA or UVB. so my question is:led1.jpg

would this be a good configuration ?( the purple being UV 400nm) the blue is blues and RB mix, white's, reds, greens. or is that to much UV or should they be spread out a bit more? im getting 2-3 to put of the tank- its shallow wide and long- the lights will be mounted 14" above water.

    thanks again for your input.

Sounds like you setting up a DIY LED fixture

One thing to keep in mind is that RB is more along the lines of the LED version of actinic T5. Less usable light as compared to blue LEDs. I would suggest a greater number of blue (in stead of RB) to provide your SPS frags with more usable light.

As for the other color tones, perhaps you don't need to figure this out for yourself. I do believe one of the Radon models uses all of those same color tones in one of there LEDs. Perhaps look up the mixture used in the Radon's and apply that to your fixture. Might be worth looking into
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
