I am about to seriously talk with my grampa to see if he would allow me to set up some tanks. He has two empty 45gal, a 55gal and multiple 10s-30s with space to give. He also loves fish but hates the fighting that cichlids do. I think he would love to help breed killi's.

Man, that's opportunity just waiting to happen...

Per, you ever try to breed cichlids with target fish, so they keep the aggression off each other?

Well, I got home yesterday to a little surprise in the tank...eggs!...I noticed three small clusters on the front glass, Lauren saw some on the plants, too. Not quite sure what these could be, certainly not mystery snail or assassin snail eggs. I did note earlier in the thread that I spotted a pond snail on the coco cave java fern, you can see it in the pic I posted, because I had not seen any of them in a long time. I assumed the assassins had wiped them out, but perhaps not.
The most recent thing I added to the tank was the pair of Apistos that I got from KevinVA. He advised me that there may be a bit of duckweed that made it into the fish bag, which I certainly didn't want in the tank, so I was very careful (I thought) to not get any plant matter he may have sent into the tank. I haven't seen any evidence of duckweed in the tank, so that's good, and I don't even know if Kev has pest snails in the tank he was keeping the Apistos in. I don't think these eggs have anything to do with Kev.
So, what are they? Below are a few pics, 3 of them magnified. Lauren cracks me up with her "riggings", she bought a laser pointer and used the lens from it, taped to her cellphone, to act as a magnifier. Apparently you can buy magnifiers like that for cell phone cameras, but she made her own, because it was cheaper? I have no clue, never heard of that.
Anywho, here's a few fuzzy pics. What do you guys think?...if it IS pest/pond snails, I'm not overly concerned, since I do have the assassins.
