Thanks Lee! ...oh yeah, Mrs. Slap like it, I catch her on the couch gazing at the tank all of the time...she's learning how relaxing it can be to just sit and watch
I try to warn her before I make fishy purchases, that way it's not a surprise when she looks at the account...I try to avoid "the look" as much as possible

Looking good, Matt! Look at the size of those corys in comparison to the female. lol She's dwarfed by those little guys. ;P
Lee, I'm in the same boat as you, man. My wife rarely ever looks at the tank, unless there's a noise (like a Killi jumping). Sometimes she'll watch them at feeding time, because there's a frenzy of activity. Otherwise, she couldn't care less about what goes on by the tank area. My kids love them, though. Noah is always watching the fish and gets ecstatic about it. Kaitlin is curious whenever I'm working on the tanks. They're still young, though, so who knows what they'll think later on.

Thanks Kev! And IMO, any of us here that have kids interested in fish are fortunate...it's fun to share the experience with young minds, and if we're not careful, maybe teach them something about responsible pet ownership
OK, Lauren and me got the coconut done, we're boiling the 2 halves right now...It was pretty easy, actually!
The water is already pretty brown, just coming to a boil. If I understand correctly, we'll change the water out and boil again, over and over, until the water is clear.
Will it happen tonight? I found a couple of Java fern plantlets in the tank when doing a PWC today, I have them in the tank stuck to a val, just waiting to be attached to my new cave roof

We got the coco cave made and in the tank! I like it, not too bad for a first try

Fits in nicely, but kinda reminds me of a beanie with a propeller on top :)

Thanks Kev...i boiled it like 10 times, lost count after a while...for such a light-colored coconut (it was from Mexico, those are the only ones available at the stores around here), it put out ALOT of tannins...the water from the first boil was dark deep brown
