Yeah, it fits really snug. I had to shove it down so it sat on the rim of the tank. I don't really hear a vibration noise, but I hear the trickling noise of the water falling into the tank much more than I do my other AC filters. Not sure if that's because it's a bigger unit, my water is lower than I usually fill it or something else. =/

Do you purposefully have the water a bit lower for any reason?...mine usually is only about 1" from the top lip of the tank

I know my AC30 is dead silent at least compared to the tetra filter on the 37. Man I can't wait to replace that with an AC70 or AC110 once I get enough seeded fluval rings I may be able to do a straight swap and just dump all my cycled media from that filter into the new one.

Try adding more water till the trickling stops.

I usually only fill my tanks up to a little past the bottom of the black trim at the top. It's no different from the others I have. Might be due to how fast the flow is with the bigger filter.

I keep my water level about 1/2 inch below the glass top. This provides great surface tension, is quiet and doesn't send the water straight down out of the waterfall (and no unsightly bubbles). It also gives good circulation across the top and down the front of the tank. I know there was another thread discussion about lack of air space below the glass top, but I have kept my 75 gal this way for almost a year with no problems.
