Beautiful tank, as always. It was a treat to see your Ms. Kong. Glad to hear she is a bit less shy for you these days. She is a beauty, for sure.

Hello all, thanks very much for the concerns and well wishes.
Mrs. Slap, myself, and the 3 pups evacuated this past Wednesday to my daughter’s house near Killeen (SIL is stationed at Ford Hood). We are fine, house is fine, but still no electricity as of today. We’ll return when we get power back on. Left 3 battery powered air pumps going in the main tanks, next door neighbor stayed and has a key to the house, so far, so good with the fish, but with no A/C, I’m worried about the temps....not much I can do about it, though...at any rate, thanks again for the concerns, I’ll check back in when I can, typing on my phone is making me cross-eyed, lol.... y’all take care, hope to get back with you soon

Thank you, Rivers. We made it home Wednesday evening, after the power was restored, after having no electricity for nearly a week.
Miraculously, fish deaths were at a minimal, lost my lone (old) oto in Berri's 5.5G (Berri's fine), a powder blue gourami that was QT'd in the other 5.5G with an angel fish (gourami never looked great to start with, angel is fine), and it looks like I may have lost one of the green/gold corys in the 40B.
Not bad for having hundreds of fish.
I give much credit to the cheap little battery powered air pumps I had set up before we left, batteries lasted 3-4 days, but I had extras on hand, and my neighbor (who bravely rose the storm out here, and has a key to my house) changed them out for me.
I highly recommend having these battery-powered air pumps on hand for emergency power outages that may last for days, I think the 3-pack of pumps I bought was around $10....well worth the money, IMO.
Spent all day yesterday cleaning up the yard (many limbs and refuse, but none fell on my house or garage, thank goodness), and today will concentrate on water changes....I used vacay time for this whole week, my work gave us admin time last week for the 4 days we were under mandatory evacuation.
Hope you all are doing well, it's nice to be back home.
