Thread: pH Problems

  1. Default pH Problems

pH had been fine until now. Registered a reading over 7.6 when it had never been over 7. I have about a 12 inch piece of driftwood in the tank too. It's 55 gallons with 25 tetras. Any ideas what caused this?

Likely? time of day. Ph fluctuates throughout the day, and the amount you are describing isn't enough to cause any alarm.
2 10 gallon tanks, 1 20 gallon tank, 1 Fluval Edge, 1 29 gallon tank, and one backyard pond.

I just had this problem. The pH is always 7.4, this time it was over 8.4! I did 4 more tests in 4 different test tubes and got 7.4 each time. The water sits in a 5 gallon spring water bottle and is treated with Prime. I guess sometime you just get a weird reading.
