do you want "dream" - as in I'll never own it, or do you want "dream" as in the tank I'll eventually have - hopefully

The "yea I wish tank" - would be a massive 6500g tank (30' Long, 6' wide, 5' deep). Would be a complete SA biotope with angels, discus, cardinal tetras, apistos, rams, rummeynose tetras. A sand bottom with a few hundred cory, massive tree root systems, an automatic water change / recycle system, all SA plants, high powered LED super cannon lights so that the tank was viewable

The someday tank - probably a 300g SA biotope with small cichlids and huge schools with maybe 1 or 2 larger natural predators - similar to if you were to jump into a river in south america and look around

Can you tell my favorite type of biotope?

I'd also consider making that 300g a rainbowfish tank

I would actually love to have a very manageable discus tank. Maybe a 90 or a 120 with a sand bottom, heavily planted, 6 - 8 discus and large schools of both rummy nose and neons - maybe 40 in each school. Neons are ho hum, I know, but you can't beat them for color.
30 g FW planted:corys, ABNP, blue angel, harleys, zebra danios, pair kribs, & nerite snails
15 g FW planted: crown tail betta, neons, snails
90 g FW semi planted: EBJD, congos, apple snails

Why don't you do it, fishmommie - it would be a snap to set up & care for ! Be glad to help you do it.

I want what Sandz wants, except I would also need a couple of experienced, fish-keeping elves to take care of it.

I'd do it in a heartbeat but I don't have room for another large tank. I initially intended to try discus in my 90 but the more research I did, the more reluctant I became. I'd only been in the hobby about 7 months at the time and i knew enough to know I wasn't ready for discus. Now my 90 is filled with SA cichlids and tetras and I love them all and can't see myself parting with them. So ... it's all about space. I'm fresh out. :o(
But thanks for the offer. As you can probably guess, Sandz is constantly pushing me to set up a larger tank too and offering to help -- with everything but the daily maintenance LOL.

I already have my dream FW tank (manageable with my free time), a planted 350 litre.

My future dream tank would be a very large, maybe 1,000 litres, marine tank with soft and hard corals, huge anemones, a variety of inverts, yellow tang school, flame angel, regal tang, chromis school, madarin goby, clowns, dartfish, firefish, a big friendly puffer etc. fantastic LED lights, a huge sump, skimmers, UV, etc. Which will be in an adjoining room to keep the tank quiet. I'd have private tuition on maintenance and build from Cliff. And a huge water changing machine that feeds saltwater in on a daily basis.
