I currently have a 20 gallon tall that I am writing a stocking plan for. There are some fish in there right now, but I'm only planning on keeping the two otos. The rest of the fish I'm giving to a friend. So other than the two otos, I pretty much have a clean slate. Here is where I am so far:
1. I want a school of at least 6 harlequin rasboras or rummynose tetras. I'm leaning towards rummynoses right now. Which would be better for my situation based on the rest of the criteria?
2. I want a german blue ram or a bolivian ram. Leaning towards blue ram right now. Which would work better in your opinion?
3. For my "centerpiece" fish so to speak, I'm thinking either dwarf gouramis or boesemani rainbows. I'm not sure if I have enought space for rainbows based on the research I have done. Is this true? Are rainbows out of the question for a tank with healthy interactions, etc?
4. I'm not sure about which bottom feeders to go with. I'm leaning towards 2-3 cories right now, but would a small pleco be better? Keep in mind, I have a planted tank, and don't want a pleco if it's gonna ruin the plants. Which species of pleco is better, and would you recommend one over cories?
I know there are a lot of questions, so any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated. This is the first time I'm really "planning" my aquarium, because I want it to be perfect. I have attached a picture of my aquarium so you guys have an idea of what I'm working with. Please note: The tank is still a work in progress. I am planning on adding more plants for cover. I'm also adding caves if I decide to get a blue ram. Thanks for all your help!
