  1. Default HOB filter - change type of filter media?

    0 Not allowed!
My 10 gal tank is about 3 years old and ammonia etc are at zero. I have the HOB filter that came with the tank. It uses the cartridge that has a pinch of charcoal in it and a very porous bio sponge. I've watched videos on YouTube and read here about filter mediums. Back in the dark ages, before power filter, it was a layer of charcoal in the bottom and filter floss on top.

My filter seems to be keeping everything doing well, but I am wondering if I were to decide to change and use some ceramic media and either a sponge or filter floss, how would I use these? The filter I have is an Aqua-Tech 5-15.
