looking for advice on bottom dwellers for 25 gallon tank
This is my first post to this forum...we are looking to add a few more fish to our newly established 25 gallon tank...Its been a week since we transferred the tankmates from a 10 gallon tank to the 25 gallon tank. Right now we have three plants (water Wisteria), 5 cardinal danios, 5 blackshirt molly's, 1 Dalmatian molly, 1 silver molly....I know we are seriously lacking in a bottom feeder....what are your opinions on adding a few ghost shrimp or mystery snails? Do you think we can add a few more colorful fish to complete the tank?
Thanks for your advice in advance....

If you think that a "bottom feeder" will clean up after the other fish, that is not true. It is ultimately the job of the aquarist to remove fish waste from the system. If you are looking for a bottom dweller for ornamental purposes, Both would be fine due to their low bioloads. if you go with shrimp try getting them as big as possible or else they may be eaten or harassed by mollies. I would not add more fish though. in the wild, mollies have been found at 6 inches/15 cm. they dont usually get that big in aquaria, but most still get to be 4 inches with good care and you have 7 of them.

Both responses seem very reasonable to me , and neither member will lead you astray . Trust them and you can do well . That's just my opinion .ask ?'s and change some water pair of JD's and loving it.

So that is what, 20g spoken for with that current stock? Give or take? I'd say a cory or two would do nicely as well. They're great little guys, I think. If not I would definitely go with a snail. I've had good luck with snails in my smaller tanks......
