  1. Default Finally have a bigger tank! Help me stock it

Just picked up a 90 gallon off of craigslist, which for those playing the home game is 48"x18"x24". A 4ft tank is the widest I can fit in the space I have an a 90g is the most area you can get in the 4ft size, which is why I've been looking so hard for one over the much more common 75g. Anyway, now that I finally have a tank thats 18" deep I can actually get a BIG fish, what would you all do with it? Im strongly considering an Oscar tank or a pair of GT's, but am open to ideas. Only rule is your suggestion must require a large tank, I've been there done that on all the small stuff

I would make it a jack dempsey or a severum tank.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

Well with a tank that big maybe you can look into brackish? Monos, scats, archers, puffers, gobies.... All good looking fish

Or you can do a large scale schooling fish. Maybe something like a school of silver dollars, a school of congo tetras, and a pair of fire mouths. Not sure how well that works stock wise. But it seems like it wouldnt be an issue from my limited knowledge. The plain sds would compliment the firemouths and congos super nicely
I wonder if i plant one of my tiger barbs would the demon seed grow to a full tree?
    gotta love them bunnies!

    Maybe African?
I personally would love some Synodontis flavitaeniatus, Synodontis schoutedeni, Ctenopoma acutirostre, Phenacogrammus interruptus, Pantodon buchholzi, Barbus or Polypterus species.

I absolutely adore my severums, if I had to downscale from my 120g to a 4-foot they'd be the ones I kept.

Here's one of mine. He's about 5 inches. I think a breeding pair of severums, or just a nice group of 3ish (as IME they are pretty social and get on well with each other) and maybe a group of brochis cories, hoplo catfish or a few bristlenoses would be awesome in your 90g.

I do adore my red severums, but I would LOVELOVELOVE Rotkeils. Can't get them here unfortunately.

Oh Sandz that fish is gorgeous, after reading the article and looking them up though it looks like most of them aren't quite that nice looking, still a really cool fish though. For some reason im not a huge fan of severums, I can't explain why, maybe just because they're so common. I was considering a Jag but they are just so aggressive and big I don't even think I could have a plec in with one.

Im thinking about a bumblebee oscar like Jenn has and maybe a couple smaller cichlids, I just have so many options I never had before lol.

Honestly you could be right, thats breeding color. I have seen them though (two friends that had them when TFH came out with this big feature from Mo Delvin) where 65% or more get that color. Others can look interesting without the blue. Its one of my dream fish though.

What about considering Managuense? I dont like Midas... You oculd go for an african odd ball tank?
