    I generally use the rule of thumb of 4 watts of heating per gallon of water. That has always worked well for me in each of my set-ups

    For your tank (80 L or ~20 gallons), I would suggest a 75 or 100 watt heater.
    If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    Rule of thumb for heaters is 1 watt per liter and round up. So an 80 you could do with a 75 watt but a 100 watt would be better. Add a little more if it's in a cold room.
    Bigger heaters are usually not a problem but high wattage in tanks with little flow can get a bit funny where they are constantly switching on and off.
