GBRs & Rainbowfish?
I am thinking of upgrading to a 55 gallon from a 30 gallon, and am wondering of fish stocking possibilities. Right now I have a GBR, neons, emerald dwarf rasboras, and threadfin rainbows. I am wondering about adding a pair of gold rams and a school of rainbows, possibly dwarf neons. Would these be compatible? Any other suggestions to add to what I currently have? It will be a planted tank as my 30 gallon is. Thanks!30 gallon planted - Fish & Shrimp - Pair of German Blue Rams, albino & calico bristlenose plecos, school of emerald dwarf rasboras, school of neon tetras, honey gold gourami, amano shrimp, and a cherry shrimp colony. Plants - Dwarf baby tears, vals, guppy grass, moss, narrow-leafed java fern, amazon swords, anubias, and many unknown broadleaf plants (foreground)

I had a ram a while back and I had him in with large angelfish and he was bullying the angelfish
very badly so that just shows the aggression that one little fish can have. my suggestion would be to get a small group then they will pay more attention to each other and not your bigger fish they do very well with tetras though.

The rams will get somewhat territorial during breeding but your rainbows will be fine as they tend to stay towards the mid- upper regions of the tank. Ensure you're getting a male/female pair of rams. Dwarf neons like all other rainbows should be kept in schools, ideally it's suggested to keep them in a 1-2 male to female ratio but I've had no problems with a couple more females than males. Alternatively you can do an all male dwarf neon rainbow school.
