I've never seen apistos with that coloration before either but I'd say they might be a little stressed and their previous diet may have a lot to do with it too. I'm sure they'll color up nicely with your care.

yea I'm gonna start with brine shrimp tonight, I also have a few other types to try.

They have a 10g to themselves with the endlers only, so they are "big" fish of the tank

that should do the trick, he looks like he hasn't been fed to many food with color enhancers imo.

The breeder feeds most of his tanks with can green beans, the fish were going nuts for them, but not sure what else he may have fed

if his breeder Apistogramma pandurini is the one he pictures, I would take fry from him. Be wary of this group. They look drab but it could be simply bad diet and stress... The true borelli should color up to a solid yellow (like yellow lab yellow) with a black eye and horizontal bar and makes will leave their head this color and flash to blue. Can also be reds and opals.

ok, i'll keep an eye out and start them on a good diet.

He didn't have any of the pandurini in... all he had this time was a pair of cacs (wouldn't sell) and a group of about 10 of these guys.

fingers crossed they color up or I can sell them at the fall auction and get a better stock

For the price you cant beat that. At least to get your feet wet with appisto's and make sure your tanks are primed up. Sell them at auction as a mated pair and then go back for the next best thing.

or maybe you'll have some going and ready by then

I will be watching his auction for the cac pair he had, another LFS had a nice male female combo, but wanted $40 for the two of them... for now I just have two more BN plecos growing out with the endlers.

Hopefully the endlers will bring in a decent amount too. I've seen them sell up to $2/ea per male and $1.50 for the females. Think the females I have already are preg too
