Thanks firefly, I would like them to roam free but we have had coyotes in the area previously so they have a big coop and a huge penned in area. They're spoiled beyond belief and are just sweethearts! Never thought I could get so attached to a chicken :D

They're the same age however the "mini brahma" doesn't lay, got any thoughts?
What type of nesting boxes do you have for them? Also sometimes it's best to keep them in their coop until mid day since most usually lay in the morning.

Home made nesting boxes with flax seeds as material, my friend's chicken seem to do well with it.
The coop is open on top so the chickens can roam the backyard 24/7 and the rabbit stays inside, the brahma doesn't seem to go into the coop lately though as she dislikes the rabbit.
There's also an old and small rabbit pen in the backyard which is only used by the smaller chicken for laying eggs.

So cute! We have chickens too...I love them as well.

Ours also don't run free...too many hazards for them...
