Maddie, the Chinese Crested is a rescue dog and was quite obviously abused. She's been with us for 6 years and always has been very timid and hasn't fully trusted/bonded with anyone really. We've been kind of like a retirement home for her it seems so though it's sad that her end is near, it sounds mean to say, but it will be somewhat of a relief for us. There's a lot of things we've had to do to accommodate her and particularly her blindness that's come with age. Here are some pictures of the 2 goof balls, this was Maddie a few years ago before she really went down hill...in her glory days, and Nigel recently:

Aw...lookit 'em all!
It's nice you took in a more difficult 'rescue'...because that's truly a rescue (vs. picking up a puppy from the SPCA). She might not have bonded with you, but I imagine you've given her peace of mind and security and that's a wonderful thing.55 g Goldfish Tank - 3 Fancies, 2 Comets
