  1. Default 54 litre/15 gallon let's gogogo!

    Okay so just recently i discovered that i had an old 15 gallon tank standing in my basement so i decided to get it out of there and use it instead letting it catch dust, i quickly took the dust off it but it still needs a good scrub.

    It's 60 x 30 x 30 in cm's that's 23 x 11 x 11 in inches?

    Whilst i was dragging this thing upstairs i realized that it didn't come with a hood at the time so i might have to produce one myself and money's a bit tight atm due to paying bills and fines and stuff so i won't be stocking it soon, but i will try to get a filter and heater ASAP so i can start cycling this thing and producing a home made hood won't be much of a problem either.
    Since it's a small tank i would like to hear some suggestions about what i should put in it and here's some of the things i would like and some of the things i don't like.

    Likes;
    -Dwarf cichlids.
    -Dwarf cories.
    -Something small at the top level i guess?

    Dislikes;
    -Gouramies.
    -Bettas.

    I really don't want to have any gouramies since i got some bad experiences with them and i find the bettas to be too mainstream and often bred poorly, atleast at my LFS and really i don't understand why they're so popular.
    I really like South and middle America but i can go African or Asian if the tank size lets me, something new sounds fun to me.

    So please advice me some good fish that you want to see in my tank and i'll try to set it up for you guys.

    Depends if you can get a hood with enough light. If you can then plant it, get a dozen dwarf cories and a group of dwarf pencilfish.

    Another alternative, a small colony of friendly shellies?

    planting that tank shouldnt be too hard, personaly i would just plant it and go with some rasboras. maybe a single GBR? a pair could possibly work in that tank, tho you need to keep the tank conditions super good, and make sure there plenty of hiding spots.

    basically what i am saying is, if you can heavily plant it and give 3 or so caves. if you get the pair tho make sure you have plans for fry.... i think the single ram and rasboras with live plants would look superb

    btw 60x30x30 cm = 24x12x12 inches.... give or take

    Alright forget what i said about bettas, might aswell give them a go i mean i didn't like neon tetras at first but i ended up having 20 of them.
    What could i keep with the betta, i already got 5 harlequin rasboras which i could add with the betta is this possible?
    Don't want to overstock the tank.

    You should be able to find a cheapish clip on light for the rimless tank that works for plants just fine. You could do all kinds of microrasbora and then an appistograma trio.
    FW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species
    Sw: 1 55gal, 1 30gal show, 1 29gal show, 1 20gal and 2 10's
