DIY air stone?
Right now I've got one store bought, small (probably the smallest you can buy) air stone and I need another for my 10 gallon. Right now I've just got the air tubing in the water directly and it's bubbling quite loudly and I don't know if it's diffusing gasses into the water very well. Any ideas on what I could do to make myself an air stone/diffuser and save myself a trip to the store?

You could tie a knot on the end of the plastic airline, and then poke holes in the airline with a thumbtack or needle.
If you want real fine bubbles, you could buy a wood air stone, they cost a bit more than the cheap air stones though.

The bubbles themselves d0 n0t add D.0. t0 the water, they simply create disrupti0n at the surface which is where 0xygenati0n 0ccurs (this c0ming fr0m 2 friends 0f mine that are municipal water treatment w0rkers). Air st0nes are m0re f0r if y0u prefer t0 see bubbles, a pr0perly p0siti0ned filter return will d0 the same j0b, but If y0u d0n't want t0 spend the m0ney g0 with K0riths idea 0f kn0tting the line tightly and using a fine sewing needle. When in d0ubt read it until it makes sense, then read it again!
