    Oh. Of course

I plan on making more, including the one by urua joey. These two ran me about $10 total for the materials (6 airstones, big sponge, 8 curlers), and I have a lot of extra.

Good! The overall plan is to get these cycled, then take out the HOB's and move them to a 15 gal I want to get set up :)

I recently made a filter for a small Fluval, model discontinued. I took out the filter system that was kinda "built-in". Its not pretty, but it seems to work.

I have since removed some of the media, as I didn't think it was moving much water. And checking back to the How To video I realized he added only half the volume of the "canister" size. So now it flows better...to me anyway...

the media is moving more freely...

Good call removing half of them to allow a lot of movement. Looks like you have either K1 media or HEL-X media which is meant to be used in a moving fluidized media chamber.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Thanks, Cliff. It really helps going over all the threads on this forum. It gets my brain going. And points out mistakes I'm making before I do some real damage, which is always at the expense of one of my little guys.

Thanks for sharing! Actually, my DIY sponge filter didn't work out I do, however, have 4 separate sponge filters running on a variety of my tanks. If I ever start another smaller tank, I really do want to make another DIY like the one above Great looking little tank you have there! I love small tanks :)
