Is there room per chances for one or two small computer fans? And do you feel comfortable doing a little wiring? You can get the fans super cheap at Wal-Mart and they will put out.

Well that sucks. At least you found out about the temp BEFORE buying the fish. I'm in the same boat with my 40 gallon. I figured without a heater it would be ok in the sun room (north facing). NOPE lol. So I'll either have to put it downstairs in the basement or accelerate my plans for my twenty gallon and put the 40 where the 20 is currently.

The only problem with using fans is that I can't use my glass tops (a tightly sealed tank is absolutely necessary with the Amanos). I would have to use pet screening and make wood frames to hold the screening, so that the top of the tank is exposed. The fans would blow the air across the open water creating evaporative cooling. With the screening, I'm not sure how effective this setup would be.

I'm really leaning toward the revised stocking list. Considering Diamond Tetras instead of the Glowlight Danios. If the tank temp gets any higher, even one degree, it would be too high for the Danios, who are really a cooler water fish.

OMG - I just realized, this would change the dual 29s to tetra tanks. And I have the gold pristella tetras in the 75 gallon, which makes 3 tetra tanks! I would be a member of the "Totally Tetra Club"!

You still have Danio's in the 75g though right?

The diamond tetras are a wonderful fish. I love seeing a good sized school of those guys.

If you use the fans in that video you most certainly can. This glass top has a plastic back part right? Cut a hole the size of your fans in the plastic. Glue the fans onto board like that guy did, but have one pointing into the tank and one pointing away. This is going to give you some serious air circulation. The only downside is evaporation being higher.
