How are you doing with the BBA?

Still a bit of a battle. I'm dosing full EasyCarbo and Ferts to try to give the plants a headstart on it but I've had to cut a lot of leaves and stems out (which were covered).

Did a 40% water change today and dosed my EasyCarbo to affected areas with a pipette before refilling the tank. We'll see.

Hopefully once the tank is matured I can ease back on the dosing as I'd originally wanted this to be very low tech.

    Just wondering...

Are you doing siesta or regular straight photo period?

Are you using RO/DI or straight tap?

No siesta - although I could if you think that'd beat it. Photo period is down to 5 hours 7pm-midnight. Originally I had 6 hours. Tank doesn't get any direct sunlight through the day.

Water is straight from the tap. No phosphates.

Been trying out the macro lens tonight and got a couple of sharp ones (from about a hundred taken!)

The penguins are really filling out now and either have amazing colour or are very reflective!

Can try siesta. Are you familiar with Tom Barr's EI dosing? Also, what's the specs on the light? Sorry if it was mentioned somewhere in the thread, lol.

Lights are T5s, and there are four of them. Bit too much?

Don't think 4 T5s are too much, what's the rating of the bulbs? 5k or 6.5k?

When did the BBA battle start?

Just noticed you also dosed other ferts, what are they and do you have the dosage?

No idea. They came standard with the tank.

BBA started a few weeks ago and gradually took over. I've had it in my other tanks and dealt with it in the same way as I am doing now.

Ferts = EasyLife ProFito - dosed for 300 litres.
