  1. Default Why is this tetra's tail curving up?

One of my Cave Tetra's tails is curving up. It started a couple nights ago, and it looked very slight so I didn't pay very much attention to it. I am pretty sure it has gotten worse though, also when it swims it's rear end seems to want to float up a little higher than the front end. I have had these fish for over a year, no others have bent tails, and I have not added any new plants or fish.

From what I have researched it could be genetic, a parasite, a physical injury, or malnutrition.

I think genetic deformity can be ruled out because this just started.

A parasite could be possible. Again these fish have been in here for a while, and I have made no new additions, but I suppose it is plausible that something could have been laying dormant.

I don't know if a physical injury would make sense. I never see them fighting.

I feed them New Life Spectrum Thera sinking pellets, and the tetra with the bent tail does seem to be eating.

They share the tank with some Green Neon tetras and two Amano shrimp. At my disposal I have Seachem Para Guard, Pimafix and Melafix. I would like to point out that plant growth seems to have slowed, but I assumed this was because I ran out of Flourish Excel a few months ago, and my T5 tubes are probably just at the 12 month mark.

I found this, but not quite sure if it applies to your fish:
