Do you have your own 'spot'?
This came up in conversation (again) this weekend...
Do you have your own 'spot' in the living/family room and at the kitchen table? Or is it 'scramble' seating at your house?
I'm not talking about when you have people over...just on a regular basis...or if you have one or two guests - do you tell them where to sit, or let them choose a seat and then work around them?
I want to see if the AC folks are the same, or differ, from the results we tabulated the other day...55 g Goldfish Tank - 3 Fancies, 2 Comets

I have my chair in the living room and I have my chair in the family room in the basement. I am always in one of those two spots. But when we have people over its "scramble" seating. If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Everyone has a spot. Usually it's the one that they pick at the very first time the table is used and after that its the same ever after.
We do let guests pick though without telling them that there normally is a seating order.

That's what I thought most people had...but apparently not everyone does!
I know it gets funny when we have just one person staying over...because they usually pick a dedicated spot for themselves...which upsets the family seating...and then everyone is scrambling for their second favourite spot...lol. It's quite funny to watch.
I have also watched this in the classroom when students come in. Most will sit in the same seats year round...but some don't. I love the look of consternation on a student's face when they come in to find someone in 'their' seat...55 g Goldfish Tank - 3 Fancies, 2 Comets

in my house its not "law" but typically everyone sits in the same place, I'm at one end of the couch and the fiance and dog fight over who sits/lays next to me lol
My dog loves to be in the middle, so really she is the cause of the scramble seating in my house

LR, Kitchen, Basement, Studio, Office, Backyard... No matter. Every spot is mine. Living alone has its benefits .
Having said that, I am not especially emotionally invested or habitual about where I sit and guests are free to park it where they please as long as they don't go poking around the tanks or instruments.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.
A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Im kinda crabby about this... I bought my couch in my living room with a spot specifically for me, my wife agreed to it being mine, I have litterally everything I want in that spot and so it is MINE... At the dinner table, I dont care but do have my spot. In my fish room, there is only 1 seat... anyone who wants to walk through can do so while walking... No glass tapping!

Well I have a tiny kitchen and no dining room so there's no kitchen table and the left side of the couch belongs to me with the right going to my female dog, my BH has her chair but she has to fight my male dog for that spot, anytime she gets up he takes it. We rarely have company and if we do it's for a cookout and everybody will be sitting outside so then it's first come first served..
You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.

Oh yes, at home the hb & I have our own spots for the kitchen, family room, dining room, bedroom (the cat takes up most of the bed smack dan in the middle). At work I have my spot at the lunch table, park my truck in the same spot and because I want to be able to find it I have a habit of parking in the same area at my usual shopping centers. We do let guests sit wherever they're comfortable but as soon as they leave we reclaim our territory :p_______________________________________________
