Default Start University in 2 weeks!

I'm terribly excited to be starting my university degree in 2 weeks today. I'm doing a Bachelor of Biological Science.

Not my first rodeo -- I attended university for a year and a half doing a Registered Nursing degree before I decided that working with people wasn't for me.

This semester I'll be studying Earth History, Global Climate Change, Ecology, Evolution and Conservation and Statistics.

    Wish me luck!

Congrats on going back to school

Out of all the classes that I took, statistics is the one I still use the most at work

    Best of luck to you
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

What do you do for a job Cliff?

I was hesitant to take Stats as I am not mathematically minded, but it was a prerequisite if I am to end up doing a Masters.

My job involves a lot of analysis, both financial and manufacturing related. Sometimes it's real easy, other times I'm wishing I paid more attention in school. I've had a few different jobs since school, but the stats class is the one that has always applied to what ever I was doing. But I'm a little bit of a geek that way

I did stats for my degree (it was a core module) and I found it very boring...but it's essential for any academic argument you may make as you will need to present evidence appropriately to support it. It has been occasionally useful since then too

Oooooo I'm jealous of your Evolution course - I'd love to do something on that. Enjoy!

I admire your courage! Ecology, I think that would depress me immensly.

Stats isn't that heavy on the technical math. A large part of it is common sense. When you understand what a representative group is you're halfway there. I took it as part of Epidemiology which still comes in useful when I'm dealing with computer virusses and malware.

For some reason I never picked you as a techy-type, dutchie!

What's so depressing about ecology? The fact that everything is going extinct?
