Soemthing killed a danio?
0
Today I added a dwarf gourami to my tank along with 2 albino cory's. This brings my stocking to
12 neon tetra
7 albino cory's
6 zebra danios (now 5)
1 Dwarf Gourami
Within a few hours a zebra danio is hidingg at the bottom in the plants and after looking at him you can see he was cut up from something.
Later on he died.
I would assume it had to be the gourami right? I havent seen the gourami show any other agression towarsds my other fish, or any fish to any others for that matter.
Also can I add a second gourami? According to aqadvisor I can, but I was told two can be territorial and fight. I just introduced the first one, would a second one be fine if I get it tomorrow since they were both introduced generally at the same time?

Do not get a second gourmai. they are territorial, and if there not right now they will once it's an adult.
i would also blame the gourmai for the killing.
i hear some people say, "i kept a goldfish in a bowl and it lived for a year."
they don't know how lucky they were and all goldfish live at least 15 years in proper conditions.
that is equal to saying my human lived in his closet for 5 years!

I would look for something else in the environment that cut the danio. A sharp rock or jutting decoration.
Obviously, your tank is of decent size, thus, I find it highly unlikely that the Dwarf was able to catch the Danio; much less stay with the danio long enough to damage him in any way.
Looks about 40 Gallon Tank
Betta, Buenos Aires Tetra, Neon Tetra, Harlequin Rasbora, and Otocinclus
Wisteria, Amazon Sword, Java Fern, and my unstoppable Trumpet Snail Army
Looks about 75 Gallon Tank
Wet and Empty; thinking Scalare, Corydoras, Otocinclus

Yeah I would agree if its a large enough tank. Those danios are fast little buggers.

According to other posts he has a 20gal. I think his stock is a bit much for his tank.

The minimum size that Aqua doesn't get bitchy about his stock is 30 gallon. So, he has at least that.

+1.
If it's a 20 high, danios are very fast swimming fish and need more tank length than this tank provides. I have 8 in my 75 gal and they are very active and swim the entire tank length. I have read of them running into the ends of tanks when the tank isn't long enough and dying from the impact. And I would think the gourami would feel constrained and not be a happy fish.
If it's a 20 long, you have more length for the danios, but not enough height for the rest of the stocking list.
75 gal - Smudge Spot Cories, Silvertip & Pristella Tetras, Scissortail & Red Tail Rasboras, Pearl Gourami, Black Kuhli Loaches, Whiptail Cats, Wild Caught BNP
Dual 29 gals - Diamond Tetras. Harlequin Rasboras, Bloodfin Tetras
10 Gal - Mr. Betta's Fishy Paradise
