I have always acted effectively under pressure, it is when I am at my finest, l0l.
N0 warranty, b0ught it used- guess I can't c0mplain in the l0ng run- 0nly paid 150 d0llars f0r it. I'm m0re upset ab0ut the time and energy dev0ted than the l0ss 0f the tank, I really l0ved that setup- but n0w I am bent 0n making a triumphant return, l0l. when at first y0u d0n't succeed...c0me back with a vengeance! G0nna take the time t0 setup FEMHA a little better and make it m0re like a h0me than a refugee camp f0r my little buddies, the g00d news is that every0ne c0l0red up nice again rather quickly and they ate healthy. Glad t0 see that they are resilient. And Thanx again t0 each and every 0ne 0f y0u f0r the supp0rt, it helped my mindset a t0n!!! Y0u are all great!

So sorry, Longshot, what a nightmare! At least you caught it AND you didn't lose any fish! Could have been MUCH worse!!

I have a friend who recently lost an entire tank of discus (7 of them) and all her other fish, because her lovely 2 year old daughter poured ALL the chemicals and food from the cabinet into the tank (several gallons-worth of dechlorinater, fertilizer, tonics, medicines, etc). She didn't catch it in time and everything was dead or dying within 30 minutes.

Disaster strikes us all sooner or later in this hobby! At least you got yours over and done with!

A friend of mine had her dive shop's display tank poisoned and she lost all her fish, including some she'd raised specifically for a breeding project. At least all of your fish survived.

Aw, yes! The "terrible twos"! That's whay it's so important to start educating kids as early as possible on the dos and don'ts of the aquarium. So, is that little toddler up for adoption, now? (just kidding!)

Sorry about the leak, longshot. One never knows when that might occur. I'm always apprehensive whenever we go on vacation -- that's when things that were waiting to go wrong often do. Like power outages and the filters not repriming when the electricity returns, or leaking, etc. Hubby won't allow even our most trustworthy friends inside our house while we're gone to check on the fish tanks.

Hopefully, you can get back up and running before too long. Very lucky fish to have a second home while the first one is being mended.

    All the best to you.

Longshot, Maybe I missed it but have you considered just resiliconing your entire tank? If your filter isnt affected, you could have it back up and running in a months time or less. Ge silicone window and door (the one without the anti mold crap) is perfect, a gun for it is a few bucks, 20 dollar fix at most? I paid closer to 10.

I will look up a how to resilicone a tank youtube for you as well if you want.

A 125 is a tough one to re-silicone. Not impossible, just will need some help to do the lifting

If you do resilicone, be sure the type of silicone is aquarium safe. Not all of them are. Your LFS should have silicone that's meant to use on aquariums. I wouldn't use any other kind, unless it specifies on the label that it can be used for aquariums.
