The skimmer actually came with that lid. CSC = Canadian Skimmer Company. But they should really be called, "Canadian Skimmer Assembly Company" as the only part that is actually made in Canada as far as I can tell is the red maple leaf.

You should be able to find egg crate at Home depot in the lighting department. I use the stuff that is meant to by used with the in-ceiling florescent lighting fixture.

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

LOL, nothing like finishing a project yourself.

Home Depot didn't have any so I'm still on the hunt.

So far, I am liking this skimmer more and more. It does take a very very long time to break in, but when it does, WOW. I have the air intakes wide open, the gate valve at ~75% open, and it is in just over 7 inches of water. I perfer my skimmers to produce more of a wet skimate so that is how I adjusted it. If I wanted a thicker skimate, I think I would just have to rase the skimmer a little more so it is only in about 6.5 inches of water

The below pic is only after 4 days (after I emptied and cleaned it)

Always love a skimmer that gets work done!

I'm looking forward to when I get search for a large skimmer, at least until I remember everything has a price tag.

Really? Mine looks really ugly but I dont smell it. Mind you I love a cigar more then I should. That ugly brownish thick paste creeps me out but nothing a tap of hot water and a few paper towels wont clean up.
    So theres a smell?
