Default Schooling fish for a planted tank

Does anyone have a recommendation for a schooling fish species for a planted tank?
I am looking for something bigger than a neon or cardinal tetra, maybe about the size of a white cloud. Something that isn't as common as neons or cardinals, but still fairly easy to find?
    Any suggestions are welcome.

Harlequin Rasboras. Tight schooling fish, active middle to upper layer, and grow to the size of a quarter in a larger tank.

I always liked the way my daughters bloodfin tetra looked and schooled in her tank.

I like HB's suggestion of Bloodfins. You could also go with Gold tetras or Blue tetras.

I like the idea of Lemons or Rosy Tetras. I like high bodied tetras.

Thanks Talldutchie, forgot to mention that.
    pH is approx. 6.8-7
    Moderately hard
Tank temp. Approx. 23.5degrees Celsius in winter and 25-26 in summer.

The blue tetras are a stunner but I doubt I will be able to find them.

Unless wild caught, the fish will acclimate to whatever water conditions the OP's water is.

I have some blue tetra and they are very pretty fish. I have lost several to them jumping. The tank they are in is covered but when I do water changes I take it off and they start to fly. I learned the hard way to keep a close eye on the them. Something to think about if you can find them. They are also very active, and swim all over the place. They do not stay in a tight school unless they feel threatened. Very nice fish though.
