    hi all,
this is my first post but i'm concerned about my dwarf gourami, he seems to just sit on the bottom of the tank almost lifeless. i've tested the water which seems ok, i have lots of plants and he is the only gourami and the biggest fish in my tank so i've ruled out bullying. the tank contains neon, glowlight and rummy nose tetra's and 2 female betta's. there is also 4 platy's which were added recently. i really dont want to lose him, but i dont know what to do, help!?

Posting the exact parameter test results can sometimes be helpful in situations like this

Also, maybe a little more information about your set-up as well, like tank size, filtration, and the amount of weekly water changes you typically complete.

Some more information can at least help us to rule out a few likely causes

    And welcome to the forum
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

thankyou for the welcome and reply, i have checked again and the ph is 7, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels are 0. it is a 64 litre tank (16 gallons) and i generally give it a deep clean and 25% water change every 7-10 days. the filter is a interpet pf2 if this info helps. i just use all the equip i got with the tank, which i've nowhad for about 7 months.

Did you recently change out the filter media... just a thought because 0 nitrates in some cases means the tank hasn't cycled....

Are any other fish acting weird? Is the DG eating? Any long white stringy poop from any of the fish?

i changed the white filter about a month ago. i haven't changed the carbon one for a while. none of the other fish are acting strange. the figures given are the best i can gather from looking at the colour chart on my water test kit, they may not be exact. the gourami hasn't eaten for a couple days. should i try some bloodworms? i usually keep them as a once a week treat.

Uh oh, that could be a problem, by changing that filter you may have removed beneficial bacteria.....the carbon is probably worthless by now, it doesn't last long...lots of people don't even use carbon except sometimes to remove meds from the water...
