happy fathers day/ birthday to me .....
I am so stoked , I have recently started adding plants to my 220g in wall tank. And plants are just barley surviving. As I only have 185w of light. Most of the plants are ,from what I am told ,low light varieties.
So I have been eyeballing some light fixtures. And found I can't afford what I want right now .
So on to the point.....my birthday was last week and tomorrow is fathers day . My wife and 5 kids got together and bought me a kick a## fixture... its a 4' 8 lamp t5 ho fixture for a total of 432 watts over double what I have currently..
It is actually a fixture made for hydroponics . It appears to be pretty well built with good reflectors (which I currently don't have ) and has two switches each controlling 4 lamps.
I will post some before and after pics once I get it hung .
Well , just wanted to share with you guys . As I am pretty excited .. Scott.

Well , as promised here are some pics . The first is before the new fixture. And the others are after.
Not sure if you can tell from the pics but this monster puts out a lot of light. I am really pleased . And the price was right ....lol....its a big improvement over what I had before .
Now I want to upgrade the lighting on my 44g pentagon tank..... Scott.
