I think I have a decent plan for my tank. Just need to find a home for the raphaels :(
    I'm going to do
    12 neon tetras
6 zebra danios(im debating about this)
    4 ablino cory's
    4 paletus cory's
    3 raphaels (temporary)
    1-2 showcase fish
I still need to find the showcase fish. I am not going to get my paletus until I rehouse the raphaels. The reason why the Zebra Danio's are in a debate is because the color is so similar to the albino cory's. I might swap them for a different type of danio. But I do like them a lot and will probably end up keeping them.
I want a showcase fish. I want something like a shark. A red tailed shark specifically. I liked them a lot.
Any ideas what I can put in my tank that would be similar to that time of fish?

I'm pretty sure red tailed shark need a larger tank than a 20gal, and also are considered semi-aggressive... now whether that's only to their own kind or not I'm not sure, but I read that they get territorial. I don't think I'd get one as you don't have room according to some quick research and also your other fish are pretty peaceful species and I would think would be best with other non-aggressive fish. Sorry I can't really recommend a "showcase" fish for you at the moment but I'd definitely stay away from the shark unfortunately, even though you like them. There's a lot of fish I wish I could put in my tank but never would because they wouldn't be suitable for various reasons ;) Is there anything else you like that you were considering?

EDIT: I apologize if I misunderstood you and you already knew what I just said... now that I reread your question, sounds like you don't want a red tailed shark but instead just something similar in looks?

I thought about it, and thought I'd suggest maybe one dwarf gourami as a "centerpiece" fish? They are peaceful and really pretty. I know that's a far cry from the shark, but maybe more compatible with your other fish.

Instead of the zebra danios, maybe check these out:
    http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...68&pcatid=2768

I don't know if you could find them locally but they're a smaller variety of danio with really cool coloring that wouldn't blend with the albino corys. Danios are really active mid/upper level swimmers and zebras can get up to 3" full grown I believe. I think 6 of them would be overstocking your tank a bit... but maybe 5 or 6 of the celestial pearl danio (1" max size ea) would be a better fit.

BTW the raphael's are cool looking and I know you're sad to see them go, but trust me you will love the corys! They are probably some of the most entertaining little fish I've had ;)

+1 to the Celestial Pearl Danios. Really like those fish and you could stock more of them.

The Red Tail Shark will not work... nor will any "shark," really. You could do a pair of Rams, if you wanted, but I'm leaning toward Dwarf Gourami, too.

So I got rid of the CAE's and I replaced the 2 danios that died. What's interesting though is that the danios that I have had are much more an albino cory color where the danio that I purchased today look much more like your standard brown danio with black stripes.
Next I think I am going to go with the dwarf gourami. And then once I get rid of my raphaels I am going to swap those 3 out for 4 palaetus cory's and I think im done :)

    Will bring me to
    12 neon tetra
    7 zebra danios
    4 paletus cory
    4 albino cory
    1 dwarf gourami

There you g... wait a minute. Nah, you should be ok if you keep up with your water changes. You're still going to be a little overstocked with 8 corys, but it shouldn't be too bad. You should be fine.

Anyone know why the two sets of zebra danios I have look completely different from eachother?
The ones I bought from my LFS look like albinos and the ones I bought from Petsmart are much more brown with black streaks.

I haven't seen many of the albino zebra danios but they are out there. Mostly I see the darker ones with the dark stripes... probably just depends on where your lfs gets their fish vs petsmart. The albino is a naturally occurring color morph of the regular zebra danio. :)
