What a cute story! But I sure wish I knew how that dog turned out. Deer have holves like knives.

Guess I spelled holves wrong because my spelling checker doesn't like what I wrote!

I think it's "hooves", and you're right, they are lethal weapons.

I got thinking about this dog and this is what I found:

Star (Dog) was treated at Cranbrook Veterinary Hospital by Dr. Jamie Levine He was really bruised and shaken up by it all but apparently he's doing well now Star only has one eye and he's arthritic and he's deaf — he didn't know what hit him.

I guess 3 other dogs in that neighborhood were killed.

Here is the video I promised. My husband and I looking for the babies. They hae been bleating all day. Please note that this is our neighbor's run down pig stall, and that the gun was just in case a mad momma decided she wanted to kill us.

I LOLed at "opps!" when it ran away. It makes such a ridiculous noise. Sounds like a joke.

And Omg that cat was persistent in that other video. Hell if that thing was attacking my dog I'd run at it screaming. But that might just be me lol.

It might also be me, but isn't it funny how when a dog is being mauled by a deer it's terribly sad but when a human hunter is being attacked by a deer I think ha-ha. Serves you right. (No offence intended to hunters out there.)

It killed 3 other dogs?! How far do you let it get, before you re-home the deer in question. They could have tranq'd both deer and relocated them to another location pretty easily.

Honestly the cat in the video deserved it, I did feel a bit bad for the dog, but hey it's a deer protecting its young from a perceived threat.

Most animals will do it, at least the deer eventually stopped beating the dog. The people behind the camera could have aided the dog by scaring off the deer

But hey, not nearly as bad a mother bear.
