Nice! I have either a 4.5 or 6" [Don't care for the 6" table top mount, I want an equitorial] Starblaster in my near future.

.. It's good to take an interest in the local [& not so local] neighborhood.
    Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

yeah 669 for a first scope that i own is not a bad investment. Definetly had to have the Eq mount and the Cassegrain type. i wonder how long before i have to get into astrophotography

    Sounds like fun!

The only telescope we've ever had was one the kids got for Xmas one year. LOL...it wasn't very good. I swear I could see more detail on the moon without using it!

    ...I think you're right...

If you're gonna get a telescope...may as well shell out for a really good one...

However, the cheap ones are cute...until you get tired of dusting them...;)

I've always wanted to take up stargazing or amateur astronomy... whichever. I'd love to be able to see some passing meteors, a closeup of the moon, and distant planets.

Congrats on your new buy! =]
