  1. Default Fluval Spec V Lid Advice

    0 Not allowed!
My buddy Barney the super black spade tail betta is quite comfortable in his Fluval Spec V, but I worry that he might one day jump out of the hole in the stock plastic lid. Also, I would like to buy a Finnex FugeRay 16-inch lighting fixture to be able to plant his tank but I worry that doing so would leave too wide of open space allowing him to jump out. Any thoughts or advice?

    Fine nylon mesh?

The fine mesh idea is good, I've been thinking about finding a glass top but the mesh would be much easier cheaper.

I've got a spec V and this week I've lost three fish. Never EVER had a problem with the open center lid but lately I've been coming home to fish crackers almost daily. I just started feeding hikara daphnia and micropellets in addition to the usual flake, I wonder if it has anything to do with that...? Tank parameters are normal as per API liquid test
