  1. Default brown algea growing on live plants?

    0 Not allowed!
ok i`ve been noticing that my tank has been growing alot of brown algea i started changing a higher dose of the water cause i was reading it was from high amount of nitrates but it seems like its just getting worse. ANy suggestions to treat this because currently i wipe down my tanks walls weekly cause its growing so fast and im having a hard time cleaning off plant leaves from it.

Also i feed my fish 3x a day cause there is so many should i lower it to twice a day?

If this is a newer or newly set-up tank, you are likely getting a good amount of diatoms and not algae. As it typically caused by silicates that come from new substrate, it usually goes away on it's own. Lot of extra water changes and cleaning it off will help speed up the process. Cutting back on feeding will also help

How much water are you changing right now?

How big is your tank and what to you have stocked in it.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    Diatoms are harmless to fish

Try changing 50 to 75% of the water every second day for a week or two
