So I dose 16ml metricide 14 a day and about 6ml of a macro micro mix in my 55 gallon tank.

Only issue is, that I can only really dose when I get home from work (6pm) and the lights are halfway through there cycle at that point.

Looking for a cheap solution I think I might have an idea i'd like to run past you.

If I took a mason jar, drilled a hole in the lid and fed airline tubing into it. Could I then put a valve on the outside, tip this upside down with all my ferts mixed together and have it drip into the tank (I'd adjust the rate as needed)

Or would it create too much of a vacuum in the jar and end up not dripping.

    Thoughts / suggestions?

How about a plastic soda bottle instead of a mason jar?...run your tubing through the screw-on lid, invert the bottle, put a hole in the bottom (now the top) to avoid pulling a vacuum?

Well I was thinking that the mason jar would be a bit more stable sitting on top of the tank. But I guess I might be able to find any only plastic jar... as long as its water tight...

Does anyone else see issues with this?

I can see a few issues with that lol

Would be a great for feeding on vacation, specially to set it up to only ring once before vmail

but if it vibrated and dropped it all itd mess the tank up bad...

Cool idea, might be worth a try with like a prepaid phone for leaving on a vacation

Definately some issues....was trying to see how he suspended the bottle, trying to get an idea on how to hang your med bottle...but liquid is alot heavier than fish feed, so a little string wouldn't work for your case

lol. if it works I guess I'll have to patent it

Yep. Need my royalties for a used peanut butter jar and valve

But, I am gonna see if I can build it tonight and test with plain water into another jar or something to calibrate it
