Well, my 4 goldies are in their large outside tank and seem to be happy. Can fish be happy? Now inside, 30 g, I have 4 Otos, 1 s.American bumblebees catfish and 5 black skirted tetras. Not a bad grouping, or at least I think so.
I added the tetras Sunday. My ph is naturally high,8, but I tried to slowly acclimate them. Nothing better than a badger. Lol I just really am cautious any playing w the ph too much.
    Comments?

Sounds like you did fine acclimating the new fish. There is no need to "play" with your pH as that will stress out your fish more - consistent pH works better - many fish will do OK in a range of pH readings as long as properly acclimated.

Now that you have added new fish, you might want to monitor your ammonia to make sure you don't have any kind of mini spike from them.

Ok, thanks for the reminder about the ammonia. This indoor must feel a sense of relief....from 4 4inch goldies to these small guys. Lol

    Much less bioload/waste too!

BTW, what kind of filtration do you have on that tank?

Sounds like you did fine acclimating your fish especialy if your LFS is on the same water system. Besides Black skirts are one of the toughest beginner fish you could get. Oto's are a little more sensative to pH though.

On the 30 gallon I have a tetra 20/40 and a Penguin Biowheel 200 with a bag of ceramic bio rings.
