Amano's work is a source of inspiration for many. That tank sits in his own home I believe. Personally I find his work rather stylized, I've enjoyed Heiko Bleher's biotope aquariums much more.

I've seen this tank many time's, one day I am going to have a tank that I have to stand inside to get it scaped. Here is a video of the occupants being fed.

When I go fishing I just throw sharp rocks in the water and wait for the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Amano was here in Atlanta a few years ago, for a convention. He aquascaped a tank from whatever plants he could find there, was surprised it came out looking so well in that short a time.

I've never had that eye for aesthetics, my planted tanks look like overgrown messes.

Few people do have his eye. But even for the average person there's a lot to learn. Golden ratio, one or possibly 2 key elements, height differences.
If you want inspiration for the rest of us, Danish plant nursery tropica has layouts on their site:

Dead easy and visually interesting because of the vanishing point and the different heights of the plants.

    This is another

Wow, I like that one. Very simple.... other than the CO2, but still even that isn't very hard

    And not that necessary either.
