    Hi all I'm new to this so i hope I'm in the right spot i just got a hexagon tank on a stand and it will stand about 1800mm high when set up and I just want to know if there is a special type of pump/filter i should get it is about 250 l

    If you go for an external then something capable of that heihht and able to do 1000 litres per hour at least. Also know that due to thee small footprint of these tanks not all species are suitable.

    Looks like you are getting some good advice

    I moved your thread to a better suited section of the forum.

    I like the eheim classic series, not because it's the best filter but because they're good and simple filters and I know they work. I think I'd use a pair of eheim 2215s. Enough capacity and it allows you to stagger cleaning. However I wouldn't discount a gentle used 2217 either.
    Do make sure you get the quick connect taps for it.
    Alternative is the ex1200 from tetra.
