After all the help people have given, i thought it was worth posting a picture of my tank.

    IMG_2732.jpg

    Its now stocked and contains

    6 Neon Tetra
    6 Glow light Tetra
    3 Silver Molly mff
    3 Sunburst Molly mff
    2 Bamboo shrimp
    1 Halfmoon Betta m
1 I think Sunburst Fry (They hatched mid week (about 20) but i have found them a new home).

The 6 Neons, Betta and Shrimp went in two weeks ago. The neons soon gained back their colour and over the past few days the shrimp have really started to come out of the shadows.

last weekend i added the molly and glow lights and again they all seem happy.

In a week my nitrates are rising to around 20ppm with a 50% weekly water change. I am thinking of upping it to twice a week 30% but not sure yet.

I just want to also say a big thanks to all those who have helped me directly, plus all the previous posts which have helped me no end in setting up this tank.

    cheers

    alex

    Thanks steeler.

I am so pleased with how easily it has gone with just a little bit of advice. I know its not the end of the challenges but to see such happy fish is so enjoyable.

Clean water, diligent tank and filter maintenance, and nutritious food are all it takes to keep those challenges to a minimum. I like your tank, it looks good.

When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
