After you check the parameters once more, if they are 0ppm for ammonia and nitrites and some nitrates are showing, add some more ammonia, 1ppm should be fine. If the ammonia is processed out again within 24 hours and there is still 0ppm nitrites and some nitrates your tank is cycled. Put some fresh water in the tank and go get some fish.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

This thread has been going on since May and it only takes 2.5 weeks to cycle a tank. Not sure what all is going on because now the thread has gotten too long to read. :) But cycling is a very simply process. You grow it to eat the ammonia. Without it, you have ammonia and no cycle. It's pretty cut and dried.

    Amonia reading is 0
    Nitrite reading is 0
Nitrate reading is hard to match the colors up but I would say in between 5ppm and 10 ppm

So should I go ahead and add 1 ppm ammonia?

I should add that I will not be able to add fish to the tank until very early September.

Also how do I know how much ammonia to put in? I realize it is 1 ppm but how much do I put in? Like 1/4 cap or what?

If I remember correctly this is a 15g tank so I would start with a few drops of ammonia, wait an hour or so and test to see how much more you need to add. Keep doing this until you get to 1ppm.

You are welcome. Since you can't put fish in the tank for 2-3 weeks, it might be a good idea to remember how much ammonia you put in tonight so you can repeat the dose easily each time the ammonia gets to 0ppm until you can put fish in.
