Would a few Platys be ok with a school of Black Skirt Tetras?
Just thinking of changing around my 29 gallon. The rosy barbs aren't really working out so great, I can see they would like more room, my sister who has a bigger tank will take them but then am wondering if a nice school of Black skirts will work with a few platys.Allergic to all things furry.

I've not kept black skirt tetras but have read that they tend to be nippy. what about getting 8 - 10 Black skirts then adding a school of 8 - 10 cory cats on the bottom? The tetras will stay up higher and most likely not pester them. You could add some neritz and or mystery snails for more color and movement and it would look really good.
I have a 29 with 8 colombian tetras (also called blue and red), a dwarf gourami, cory cats and an albino bristle nose pleco along with snails. The tank has a lot of movement and color and the CT's are not nippy at all. Just food for thought.
I'm sure others will come up with some ideas as well.30 g FW planted:corys, ABNP, blue angel, harleys, zebra danios, nerites & mystery snails
15 g FW planted: crown tail betta, neons, snails
90 g FW semi planted: Blood Parrots, severum, Jurupari, EBJD, congos, kribs, clown pleco, snails

As fishmommie said, Black Skirt tetras are nippers, I've had them. Even in a school of 10 the other passive fish took a beating so I re-homed them.
I like the visual I get from the above tank. Nice choice fishmommie.Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..
Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

A school of FM's Colombian tetras with a school of Lemon tetras would look good, IMO.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
