I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with glass catfish. i would like to set up a community tank featuring them and i'd like to know what other fish can coexist, what kind of plants to use, tank size ect.

Welcome to the forum!
When I was just starting out, I had a single one. It lived in a ten gallon tank, never doing anything eventful; just shimmering in one spot. However, since then I have learned that it is better off in a school, and would prefer a tank of 15 gallons or more. Plants would be appreciated to provide comfort for the shy fish, but if you have a school, the fish should be fine with showing themselves. I have 5 in my 40 gallon planted tank-they've been in there over a year and honestly I don't see them much unless the tank light is out. They like to hide amongst the plants. They are very peaceful and seem fine with my cardinal tetras, cories and rams. I honestly wouldn't get them again just because they are so shy unless I was willing to commit to a bigger group to see if they would feel more comfortable with higher numbers.

Easily spooked. Does not like current at all!. Get something 30 inch wide. Plant well with low light plants and including some floating plants. Stain the water a bit using peat or elder cones. Not too warm, 26c is pretty much their upper limit. Get 10 fish and keep together with maybe real harlequins / Trigonostigma heteromorpha or if you want to break biotopeness, any smaller pencilfish.
