Ok I need some advice. I've been working on my patio "pond", and I think it's done. My dilemma is that the Api test looks like .25 or 0 depending on the light. The mirrored went up but now are at 0, nitrates are at 20. Friday I'm doing a 50% water chg, adding prime. Do you think it's cycled? Can, should I add my 4 goldfish soon....safely?

If the ammonia looks like .25 or 0 depending on the light it is probably more like .25ppm. Yellow is yellow regardless of lighting. If by mirrored you mean nitrites then the pond is very close to being cycled, but I would wait until the ammonia is a definite 0ppm.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Oops, nothing like auto correct. The nitrites bounced up a tad, .25, and then dropped to 0. I have been adding BB twice a week, like safe start..different brand

I figured it was an auto correct thing. Some people swear by the bacteria in a bottle and others say they are useless, I've never used them myself but I am skeptical. Since you are doing a fish-less cycle, test again in the morning, if the results are 0 for ammonia and nitrites and there are some nitrates I think the pond is cycled. If there is still a trace of green for the ammonia test then you should wait longer before adding the goldfish.

Rgr that! I'd prefer not to have my fish "take a nap". I was intending to do my water change, just to be safe. So I guess it'd be Saturday when I'd get readings...prime

Ok here's a photo of my latest test after a 50% water change and 24 after using prime.
Nitrates are still at 0, nitrates look good 20, ph is 8.2 ( but this for goldfish)
But ammonia is giving me fits reading it

How long after the water change? If you tested immediately after the water change the tests could be off. But if the water change was the one from yesterday or at least several hours before you tested, looks cycled to me.

Sorry, I was editing my post while you replied. In that case it looks cycled.
