Hello all. I'm brand new to keeping an aquarium and am fumbling my way through owning my first. Definitely hitting lots of problems (and am getting lots of great advice here already!), but I think I'm on my way to a stable 10 gallon aquarium!

I'm even breeding guppies already (they wouldn't stop making babies no matter how much I pleaded) ;)

I'm learning more things every day and I get the feeling this hobby is going to take up a lot of my time!

Good! But the tank won't be stable until it and your filter are fully cycled.

Welcome to the forum. As suggested; read all the sticky's in the beginner's section you can.

Making beginners' mistakes is quite normal and fairly common. You've already set the next step by wanting to learn. So, welcome!

Thanks! Photography is my other hobby. I've got a Nikon D300. Most aquarium photography was done with that and a tokina 100mm macro lens. It's old but it still works well and I enjoy using it.

Awesome! I have a Nikon D3200, but I'm just learning to play around with it. I'm very impressed by your bird photography. Do you have a telephoto lens? I'm looking around for one and was wondering which one you use?
