    hello,
    i have a 20 gallon tank.
    my current stocking is
    2 platy
    2 oto catfish
    1 gold ram
    8 neon tetra
    my filtration is a aquaclear 20 and a tetra pf10.
    i would like to get 1 or 2 more otos.
    i would like to get them so they can help clean the area's i can't clean to well (ie the filters and corners... etc etc
    and it would help make the other happier with a bigger "school"

    make sure you supplement their diet with algae waters etc.. to make sure they have plenty to eat once they clear your tank of algae

    They seem fond of zuchinni too.
    Looks about 40 Gallon Tank
    Betta, Buenos Aires Tetra, Neon Tetra, Harlequin Rasbora, and Otocinclus
    Wisteria, Amazon Sword, Java Fern, and my unstoppable Trumpet Snail Army

    Looks about 75 Gallon Tank

    It's not the tank size so much but they will always compete for the food. Personally I think 2 in 20 gallons is enough. If you have it just jammed with plants, then 3-4 would be the absolute max.

    You'll definitely get more activity out of them with more (I would add 2 more). They get more comfortable with higher numbers. As mentioned, be sure to feed some wafers or even pellets every now and then. They don't only eat algae... it's just their staple food in their diet. If they have a pellet to choose from, I assure you they'll eat it (at least some of it).

    i will add 2 more. i have a lot of algae and have to do a lot off work to prevent a algae outbreak. part of the reason is that this tanks gets some sun light. so i don't think feeding them is a issue.
